The JCT600 Group
With its long heritage and strong Yorkshire roots, JCT600 has become one of the best known and most respected names in the North of England. As the company has grown, it has remained committed to its ethos of giving something back to the local communities in which it operates. JCT600’s community spirit supports a host of popular local sports and events such as the Bradford Animation and Film Festival, Bradford Cricket League and Bradford City Football Club!
The JCT600 group supports an annually nominated charity. Here are the latest three starting from 2013…
Colleagues at JCT600 have beaten their £10,000 target and succeeded in raising £27,870 for the company’s chosen charity of 2013, the British Heart Foundation. Over the course of 2013, JCT600’s 1,800-strong team across the Bradford head office and its 47 dealerships have taken part in a huge range of fund-raising activities, many of which were exercise and health-related, to support the company’s first annual nominated charity.
Thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of the JCT600 team, we’ve succeeded in raising £52,000 for our chosen charity of 2014 – almost three times our fundraising target! Over the last 12 months, our 2,000-strong team across the Bradford head office and its 47 dealerships have taken part in a huge range of fund-raising activities to support our nominated charity for the year, the Association of Young People with ME (AYME).
We have once again pulled out all the stops for our chosen charity with our 2,300 colleagues joining forces to raise a record-breaking £62,260 during 2015 for Alzheimer’s Society – the largest sum raised since we launched our annual support of a single charity three years ago. As well as annual company-wide events such as a Three Peaks Walk, the cycling challenge and the pub quiz, 2015 also saw a Bake Off, an Easter prize draw and a team entered into the Great North Run, adding to the fundraising total. In addition to supporting these events, our team across the Bradford head office and all 50 dealerships have also held their own fund-raising activities from running the Hull Marathon and hosting charity fairs to taking part in a 12 hour cyclathon and driving a 32 year old classic Ford Cortina on a 2,370 mile trip across Europe!
As our group celebrates 70 years in business, it has chosen to support The Prince’s Trust by becoming a patron of the youth charity. The Trust, which this year (2016) marks its 40th anniversary, believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed and helps 13 to 30 year olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives. The UK’s leading youth charity was chosen as we are also committed to providing work and training opportunities, including taking on more than 100 apprentices over the last three years to join our 2,300-strong team. Our company was also recently named in the Sunday Times ‘Best 100 Companies to Work For’ list in recognition of its outstanding levels of employee engagement.
Over the next four years, colleagues at our Bradford head office and 50 dealerships across the North and the Midlands will once again take part in a variety of fund-raising events as well as hosting their own charity challenges with all funds being donated to The Prince’s Trust. In addition to fundraising, we will work closely with the youth charity, providing opportunities for colleagues to work with young people through The Trust, providing coaching and mentoring support.
